Compulsory health insurance for foreigners
Retroactive to 01/01/2012 a law to compulsory health insurance for foreigners has been signed. According to this law, foreigners must now prove a health insurance for their residence permitt. This evidence should be shown to the local SGK office. If you have a foreign health insurance, this is also valid. These must be shown to the competent SGK office in the city you are registered. If you don’t have any health insurance in your home country, you must get a civil medical insurance in Turkey.
