Turkey is attracting foreign patients for welness and health turizm
On May 15 there a meeting will be held in Istanbul to advise on the development of the country for medical tourism. At this conference more than a hundred tour operators and representatives of the 15 largest hospitals will participate. The main objective of the conference is to explore the possibility of attracting patients from other states for treatment in Turkey. Last year, Turkey has already achieved very good results in this area so that the focus is on the topic of wellness.
The health sector is very important for tourism in Turkey. So 746,000 foreign patients could already be won for Turkey in 2015. 60% of tourists were people from the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf region, 20% locals and another 20% came from Europe. This year, they hope for an increase in foreign patients by 15%.
